1992 and Crosswoodhill Wing welcomed its first holidaymakers. The welcome is just as warm now as it was then, the ambience just as relaxing, but equally importantly, the facilities have kept pace with guests' expectations.....
Crosswoodhill is the only self-catering establishment in Scotland to win a Thistle Award more than once. This prestigious award places much emphasis on customer care, a sentiment echoed by guests: 'Warm, welcoming, comfortable, incredibly well-equipped, it's been such a treat to come back to such a lovely home each evening.' Just one happy memory from a past guest in the Wing, which sleeps up to 6 people in 3 bedrooms. The Wing is the more traditional of the 3 properties on Crosswoodhill. It is also the one for the more budget-conscious guest. Those with more money can indulge themselves in 5 STAR Orlege, a conversion within the same farmhouse.
Peaceful surroundings, a garden and rural seclusion so close to Edinburgh (but without the city's parking problems) make this livestock farm an ideal holiday base or stress-free rural oasis for business visitors to nearby Livingston. 35 minutes' drive and you can leave the sheep behind and be dazzled instead by the Crown Jewels in Edinburgh Castle. It's as quick as that!
Or leave the dungeons of the Castle behind and within the hour explore the open space and 1700 acres of hill land grazed by our sheep and cattle.
Now you can turn dreams into reality. Enjoy a peat fire, explore the toy cupboard, relax with a good book, feel pampered. And next day, within an hour you can be in vibrant Glasgow, Rob Roy, Braveheart and Border Country, museums, galleries, castles, palaces, excellent shops or descending a hillside on foot or bike.
Excellent train service to Edinburgh/Glasgow. Or take the car and use Park & Ride. Just 15 miles to Edinburgh Airport. Car essential.
