Abalone is a large modern property in a rural area set in its own grounds of 48 acres, we enjoys spectacular, uninterrupted views towards the south and Strathconnon, west across the Cromarty Firth towards Ben Wyvis and north towards the Fyrish monument.

Abalone is a very beautiful family home, which is bright, spacious, quiet and welcoming. Our guests can enjoy our very large lounge where there is a woodburning stove and large TV, Sky and Dvd. Enjoy a leisurely game of chess or play cards or just sit back and enjoy the wonderful view from the comfort of our lounge.

Our visitors can also sit on the patio and enjoy coffee and cake or just the wonderful view.

For the children, we have a large outdoor play area and a large trampoline (sunk in the ground for safety), basketball court, large wooden climbing frame and a football net. Indoors, there are Football and Snooker tables.

Our resident Chef offers evening meals and caters for many tastes and guests' requirements. It may be necessary to book in advance as we only prepare fresh foods. Breakfast is served at a time to suit our guests, we offer a continental or full cooked breakfast.

Our guest rooms are spacious and comfortable in a separate part of the house. They are fitted with remote control, TV,Dvd, hair dryers, en-suite facilities, seating and coffee-making facilities. All of these make Abalone the ideal holiday accommodation for our guests.

Within the grounds there is a Microlight Club with a 500 metre landing strip. The strip is grass and runs East-West. The GPS navigational code is 57° 35.13N - 004 19.07W. Microlights are most welcome provided they have the necessary insurance cover. Pilots can fly to Dornoch in the north, Inch in the east and Plockton in the west plus many other fantastic places. Abalone is an ideal base from which to fly to all corners of the Highlands and return to a warm welcome and good home cooked food.

Abalone is ideal for those wishing to spend some quality time in a peaceful location. We are situated in an ideal location where our visitors can visit North, South, East and West Highlands. Attractions include: Black Isle Brewery, Black Isle Wildlife Park, Black Isle Agricultural Show in August, Inverness City, Culloden Battlefield, Cromarty Court House, Aviemore Ski Centre, Loch Ness. There are Whisky distilleries at Glenmorangie, Glen Ord, Tomatin; Horse riding at Kessock and Fortrose; Quad Biking, Paint Ball Centre; Cycling tracks on the Black Isle; Forest walks, Fyrish Hill monument; Golf Clubs at Fortrose and Rosemarkie, Alness, Muir of Ord, Strathpeffer, Invergordon, Tain, Dornoch, Fairways and Inverness.

There are many species of wildlife around this very beautiful location. Red Kites, Buzzards and Hawks can be seen soaring above Abalone and there's an Osprey locally. There are Foxes, Deer, Pheasants, Red Squirrels, Scottish Wildcat and Pine Martens. On the Cromarty and Moray Firths, there are Bottlenose Dolphins and Common Seals and at Chanonry Point, between Rosemarkie and Avoch, you will be able to see dolphins close up. Munlochy Bay is ideal for birdwatching.
