Rosemount (Kippford)
With stunning coastal views along the Urr Estuary, Rosemount has an enviable location on the shore front of Kippford, a quaint little sailing village tucked away on the Solway Coast.
We aim high to provide quality accommodation and service with an informal and friendly approach to make your stay an enjoyable and memorable experience. Along with the superb accommodation we offer, Kippford has two great village pubs, both within strolling distance, serving lunch and evening meals daily.
We have recently completed a refurbishment of our guest bedrooms and offer a deluxe double suite comprising of 2 interconnecting rooms with a bedroom with superking bed and a sitting/living room with stunning coastal views and en-suite facilities. The suite's living room has leather recliner chairs, a fridge and a large flat-screen TV with 'freesat' channels.
We also offer a twin bedded en-suite room with superb views over the water, and a further double bedroom which has a refurbished separate private luxury bathroom.
For those with young children (under 14 years of age) our family room is located in our garden annexe and comprises of a double and bunk beds. It has an en-suite shower room, TV & DVD and benefits from it's own private access and has a partial view across the water. This room is also available as a double or twin for two persons.
All bedrooms have TV's with 'FreeSat' channels, tea and coffee making facilities and a comprehensive tourist information pack.
The conservatory at the front of the house is a fantastic spot to sit and enjoy a drink and take in the wonderful views and beautiful sunsets.
Rosemount is the ideal base for exploring the area. We have sandy beaches just a five minute drive away. Two RSPB bird sanctuaries along with the Red Kite trail are close by. Coastal and woodland walks are literally on the doorstep, with the scenic Victorian Jubilee path starting in Kippford, with a gentle walk to Rockcliffe where you can stop for tea and for the more adventurous the coastal path will take you all the way to Sandyhills.
Within the immediate locality there are a number of Golf courses for players of all abilities. We have a nine-hole course in the village, Colvend Golf course is a 10 minute drive away and the championship 18 hole course at Southerness is approximately 15 minutes by car. In fact, there are a total of sixteen golf courses within a half hour drive of Rosemount.
We are only 5 minutes by car from the world renowned 7 Stanes mountain bike trail at Dalbeattie, further 7 Stanes tracks of Mabie, Ae, Kirroughtree and Glentrool are all within a 45 minute drive. We have secure bike storage, bike cleaning and repair area and clothes drying facilities. Bike hire and repair centres are all close at hand.
The area boasts an abundance of wonderful gardens, with the National Trust Threave Gardens and Castle being particularly spectacular throughout all seasons.
Kippford has two excellent pubs in the village, both serving food daily, which makes us the ideal base to explore the area or to unwind, relax and take in the beautiful and peaceful surroundings.
