Achaban House
Achaban House was built in the middle of the last century as a manse and is situated on the western tip of the Ross of Mull within easy walking distance of the Iona Ferry. It overlooks Loch Pottie, a pretty freshwater loch to the south. A three metre high standing stone, between 4-5,000 years old and aligned to the north star, stands in the garden close to the house. It is therefore safe to assume that the site had a spiritual significance. Guests often remark on the light and peaceful feeling of the house. Over the years Achaban has retained its original style and comfortable family atmosphere.
