Monydeen B&B

A warm welcome and a complimentary tray of refreshments await your arrival at Monydeen.
This comfortable bed and breakfast is a modern design bungalow in quiet and peaceful srroundings 3 miles north of Turriff just off of the A947 between Turriff, 5 minutes by car, and the Moray coast at Banff which is only 10 minutes away. There are great views across the Deveron Valley to Todlaw Wood and the hills beyond. The Castle Trail passes within 250 yards. The double bedroom and en-suite were fully refurbished in July 2006 to provide comfortable accommodation for your stay and have since been completely redecorated. The bed in this room has a dual control electric blanket. The twin bedded room and its private bathroom were fully refurbished in April 2008 - this room has luxurious, thermostatically controlled, waterbeds. Both bedrooms have a digital TV/DVD player, clock/radio, tea/coffee making facilities and hairdryer. The lounge and bedrooms are “hard wired” to provide broadband internet access and WiFi is also available for those who prefer it.
A travel cot and high chair are available on request.
For your comfort the guest lounge is accessible during your stay and offers excellent views across the garden and open countryside.
In the sunroom we offer a choice of full Scottish and a lighter breakfast. Special diets will be catered for if requirements are notified in advance. As far as possible food is sourced direct from local farmers and bakers.
The garden, which guests are very welcome to walk round, is a feature of our bed and breakfast. It is an acre in area and contains over 300 trees. Many of these are spruce and other conifers but there is also a stand of pollarded willows, many fruit trees and other specimen items. One area is left comparatively wild giving a short woodland walk full of snowdrops, hellebores and bluebells in season. There are also 500 daffodil bulbs coming into flower in the spring. We grow our own vegetables and fruit. Much of the latter forms the basis of our home made preserves.
In addition there is a lake of about 360 square metres complete with island and footbridge. This is the home of fish and amphibians.
The result is not only a very attractive garden but also a wildlife haven. The birds visiting include woodpeckers, buzzard, sparrowhawk, English and Japanese pheasant, mallard along with the more usual species. Rabbits are almost always on the lawn and deer have also passed through.
