A romantic and unspoilt corner, it is a colourful fishing village and ferry link on the west coast of Scotland and a beautiful gateway to the Kintyre peninsular.

Within 5 minutes walk from the front door there are a variery of shops, restaurants, hotels, cafes, art galleries, a supermarket, post office and library with internet access.

Accommodation consists of one double bedroom and one twin room downstairs with a family bathroom. Upstairs is a lounge with open hearth fire and fabulous views of the harbour, a twin room with bunk beds, a kitchen diner and a shower room.

Host to the Scottish series Yacht race in May, Tarbert also has a seafood festival in June and a music festival in September.

An excellent base for touring mid-argyll, Kintyre peninsular and the out-lying islands of Arran, Gigha and Islay. Discover the deserted beaches along the wild Atlantic coast, gentle hills, and taste the fabulous local produce. The fragmented coastline and deep sea lochs lapping at the foot of the mountains, Argyll with it's 9,000 years of history is the birthplace of Scotland and the focal point of much of its colourful history.

Visit the ruined thirteenth century chapel which marks the arrival point of St Columba prior to his trip to Iona, the Mull of Kintyre lighthouse of Dunadd fort to name but a few of the local attractions.

Local activities include cycling, walking, fishing, horse-riding, surfing, golf, and sailing. With the launch of the Kintyre Way in August 2006 this 89 miles long walk cris-crosses the oeninsula, stretching from Tarbert at the north end of the peninsula, to Southend in the south.
