The Horseshoe Inn
The Horseshoe Inn is situated in the sleepy village of Eddleston in the Scottish Borders, 5 miles north of Peebles and only 18 miles south of Edinburgh.
Originally a Blacksmith's Shop, 2005 saw significant refurbishment and a warm welcome now awaits all of our visitors from Vivienne Steele and her partner, Chef Director Patrick Bardoulet.
Whether it be after a hard days shopping on Edinburgh's Princess Street or a day exploring the wonders of the Scottish Borders, why not relax in one of our eight individually furnished bedrooms.
The accommodation is in the Lodge (formerly the village's Victorian Primary School) which is located to the rear of the Inn; all rooms have recently been refurbished to exacting standards.
Five double rooms, two twin rooms and a family room all boast chic décor and a bed that will give you a perfect night's sleep to help recharge your batteries for the next days exploring of the surrounding area.
Our growing reputation is built around the quality of the food served in both Bardoulet's Restaurant and the Bistro. Bardoulet's Restaurant was named AA Restaurant of the year for 2007-2008 for Scotland and Northern Ireland and holds 3AA Rosettes. Patrick, together with his skilled Kitchen Team use fresh ingredients to create culinary masterpieces that will have you coming back time and time again.
Patrick draws on his native homeland to prepare a menu that is classical French cuisine at its very best. The food on the regularly changing menu is produced using the highest quality local produce.
Bardoulet's Restaurant is open from Tuesday to Saturday each week serving a Table D'Hote fixed-price menu on a lunchtime and an A La Carte menu in the evening. Reservations in advance are strongly recommended to avoid disappointment.
The Bistro food is as exciting as that offered in Bardoulet's Restaurant but within a more relaxed environment. In the Bistro, you can have anything from a simple bowl of soup to a fabulous 3 course meal.
A fixed-price menu is served for Sunday lunch consisting of traditional family fare; the menu is chosen especially each week to ensure variety.
We Offer a Dinner, Bed and Breakfast deal which is available Mid-Week from £75per person, per night.
