Sinclair House

Located within Helensburgh town centre, Sinclair House is a traditional villa of which the upper two floors constitute the guest accommodation. With our private car park and just two minutes walk from Helensburgh Central Station, Sinclair House is convenient for all, with an abundance of quality restaurants just a short walk. Run by husband and wife team - Iain and Ishbel, you can be sure that we have your interests firmly at heart.
We have an expanding library of DVD movies (over 420) which are free for you to watch on your room DVD player. We have ADSL internet access throughout, again at no extra charge and all rooms can surf and check email through the special Freeview receivers and the TV. All rooms have a mini-bar fridge - no alcohol licence but the local supermarket is just across the road.
We make an ideal touring base with Ayr to the South (1 hour - Rabbie Burns country), Fort William to the North (2 hours), Oban to the West (1.5 hours) and Stirling to the East (1 hour) and in the process you will see unrivalled scenery on the way. Of course Glasgow, regarded as the UK's second city for shopping after London, is just a 45 minute drive or the same by train. Full details, availability and photos are on our website.
Helensburgh was the home of John Logie Baird - the inventor of Television - and Alexander Graham Bell - the builder of the world's first steamship, The Comet. Here you will also find the Hill House - Charles Rennie Macintosh's design masterpiece. With the help of his wife, they also designed all of the interior furniture and fittings. Now a National Trust property it is open to the public from 13:30 - 17:30 from April to September.
