Viewbank House is a 19th century Victorian former farmhouse situated in Whiting Bay that has been tastefully converted and extended into a traditional Family run Bed & Breakfast Guest House, whilst retaining all it's original character, charm and features.

From it’s elevated position overlooking Whiting Bay, close to the local Golf Course, and the nearest B&B to the mightily impressive Glenashdale Water Falls, Viewbank provides superb panoramic sea views across the Firth of Clyde to Holy Isle and the Ayrshire coastline.
It is the perfect tranquil, secluded location (without being too remote), for those relaxing "get away from it all" short breaks, allowing you to unwind, or as an ideal base for a more extended holiday.
Set in it’s own lawned grounds with large private car park, Viewbank has the feel of a small hotel with it's cosy TV and piano lounge exclusively for guests, with games for all the family, books, CD and video/DVD player. All 8 bedrooms (Doubles, Singles, Twins & Family rooms - most of which are en-suite, have tea/coffee making facilities, hairdryers and TV/DVD. There are two large King Double or Twin ground floor bedrooms for anyone with mobility difficulties, one of which is our new sea facing annexed ‘Courtyard’ room having it’s own private access.

Building on the excellent reputation of Viewbank House we will offer a memorable and relaxed dining experience, providing a varied selection of freshly cooked meals for all tastes and dietary requirements using locally sourced produce and ingredients (wherever possible) at an affordable price.
We are not a licenced premises but you can 'BYOB' - Bring Your Own Bottle and soft drinks are available to purchase.
Our breakfasts have become 'Legendary' using a selection of local Arran produce when available, served in the relaxed ambience of our dining room, surrounded by the many pieces of music & golfing memorabilia that adorn the walls. We can also provide a selection of light snacks (Soup, sandwiches/toasties, scones soft drinks etc.) from our snack menu on arrival or if you simply want to stay in and relax.
Owners Malcolm & Julie offer an exceptional level of hospitality from initial booking and arrival greeting to your departure. Many guests return year after year, with Viewbank holding many special memories.
Just a few hundred yards stroll brings you to the beach and the centre of the village with it’s varied facilities and shops including Art Gallery, Post Office, Newsagents, Village Store, DIY store, Chemist, plus three local restaurants. The village is also well served by the island bus routes, though we are more than happy to arrange to collect you from the ferry with prior notice.
Only 8 miles South of the Ferry Terminal in Brodick, Whiting Bay is just the perfect base for exploring the whole island.
The Isle of Arran is often described as "Scotland in Miniature" difficult to believe it's just 2 hours travelling time from Glasgow city centre, and even less to two major international airports!.
A hidden paradise; the Gulf Stream influence provides the temperate climate which allows palm trees and wild flowers to grow in profusion, and dolphins and basking sharks to make regular annual visits to the surrounding waters.
Wildlife in abundance, deserted sandy beaches, hidden coves and spectacular mountains, historical castles and mythical standing stones all less than an hours sail from the mainland, make Arran the ideal holiday destination.
