Dunlaverock House

Dunlaverock House is an Edwardian House built in 1905 and is spectacularly perched above Coldingham Bay in a superb position with stunning south east sea views.

Coldingham is a small village that lies 3 miles from the A1 and is 45 miles south of Edinburgh. Berwick-upon-Tweed with its extensive rail connections lies 12 miles to the south. The village lies adjacent to the unspoilt fishing village of St Abbs and its National Sea Bird Nature Reserve. Scenic walks and trails along the cliff tops or fishing trips from St Abbs provide local leisure facilities and there are numerous fine golf courses within a 30 minute drive. The area is one of outstanding natural beauty.

Within less than an hours drive are some of Britain's finest places to visit : Berwick with its walled ramparts, Alnwick Castle with its magnificent gardens, Floors Castle at Kelso, Paxton House and the town of Melrose with its historic abbey to name but a few.

Dunlaverock House is surrounded by an extensive peaceful garden with a private path leading to the beach and seashore. Croquet facilities are available on the lawn. The two main bedrooms with their large picture windows, lounge and dining room have a magnificent view of the coastal panorama. The house with its spacious proportions and period features is a superb base for a stay, long or short, in Berwickshire.

All rooms are comfortably furnished with Edwardian period furniture and all have en suite facilities. A very fine freshly cooked breakfast is served each morning and evening meals of a high standard with an extensive cuisine are served in the Dining Room.

The House is easily reached by car. Guests arriving at Berwick Station will on request be picked up in a courtesy car.
