Ravenstone Mains Cottage

Set on the edge of 14 acres of woodland and offering first-class facilities, this idyllic cottage is the perfect countryside retreat.

Sleeping four, the cottage has been beautifully furnished with your comfort in mind. The living room has a cosy wood burning stove - perfect for chiller nights - and the comfy sofa converts into a bed. When you’re not out exploring, there is also a stock of great games as well as a TV/VCR and a selection of videos. The modern kitchen with its microwave, cooker, fridge freezer, dishwasher, as well as many other necessities, will keep even the most discerning of cooks happy. Upstairs, the two bedrooms, one double and one twin, offer views onto the courtyard garden and private back garden to the rear and side of the cottages. Non-allergenic duvets and pillows are provided in both rooms with linen while the bathroom includes a shower and bath, with towels. Cots and high chairs are available as well as an affordable babysitting service.

On sunny days why not enjoy a barbeque in the garden or take a break from the cooking and have a tasty home cooked meal delivered to your door?

Providing the perfect stay for a great family holiday, on-site there is a giant pirate ship, complete with climbing wall, slide and enclosed play area for the little ones. Nearby, there is lots of opportunity for exploring uncrowded beaches, cycling the quiet lanes and playing golf on one of nine courses within an hour's drive. Walkers can try parts of the long-distance route, the Southern Upland Way, or spend a day exploring the Galloway Forest Park. Some of Scotland's best fishing rivers are nearby, while birdwatchers will enjoy the variety of species that visit the Wigtown Bay Nature Reserve.
