The cottage is within the village of Kinlochewe, adjacent to the Old Police Cottage. It can be found approximately 100 yards along the Torridon Road on the left. The Torridon Road junction lies in the centre of the village directly from the A832. The cottage has views of both Beinn Eighe and Slioch mountains.

Kinlochewe lies on the A832 and is approximately 50 miles (1¼ hours) west of Inverness. The village is set on the edge of the Torridon range of mountains, and with a population of around 100 has useful local amenities. These include a shop/post office, garage and hotel. Kinlochewe is the gateway to the Beinn Eighe National Nature Reserve and is a popular destination for hill walkers, birdwatchers, fishing and sailing. Kinlochewe is situated at the head of Loch Maree and only 25 minutes drive from Gairloch which has a beach, a nine-hole golf course, a tourist information centre and a selection of shops and restaurants. The Inverewe gardens owned by the National Trust for Scotland are approximately 35 minutes drive away. Kinlochewe is ideally situated for touring Wester Ross.
