Ferryboat Cottage - Getting There
Getting there from the Information Centre
From Castle Douglas Tourist Information Centre car park turn left onto King Street. After 500 yards, take a right turn into Abercromby Road (signposted A713) Ayr). After 2 miles, take a left turn onto the B795 (signposted Lauriestone).
After 2 miles, take a left turn onto the N795 (signposted Laurieston).
Follow this road for about 4 miles into Laurieston. At the crossroads, turn right onto the A762 (signposted New Galloway). Follow the A762 for another 4 miles into Mossdale. At the Post Office in Mossdale, turn right.
After a few hundred yards, you will pass Rose Cottage on the right, then a bungalow up the hill on the left, then a cottage on the left. At this cottage, take the right fork down through the woods.
Getting There by Car

Follow A75 for 50 miles, past Dumfries (stay on the A75 Dumfries by-pass) and through Crocketford and Springholm. After 5 miles, at roundabout take 2nd exit onto A75 (signposted Stranraer, Ayr).
After 0.25 mile, turn right onto A713, then left at T junction (signposted Ayr). After 1.5 miles, take left turn onto B795 (signposted Laurieston).
At crossroads in Laurieston, turn right onto A762. Follow A762 for 4 miles. At Post Office in Mossdale, turn right.
Pass Rose Cottage on right, and bungalow then cottage on left. At this cottage, take the right fork down through the woods. At bottom of hill branch to left and follow road past bungalow and through the wooden gates. Ferryboat Cottage is the old cottage directly in front on you.
Getting There by Ferry
Leave the ferry terminal and follow the signs for A75 Newton Stewart, Dumfries. Follow the A75 for approx 55 miles, past Newton Stewart, Gatehouse of Fleet and Twynholm. 2 miles past Twynholm, take a left turn onto the A762 (signposted Laurieston, New Galloway).
Follow the A762 for another 4 miles into Mossdale. At the Post Office in Mossdale, turn right.

At the bottom of the hill branch to the left (signposted 'Ferryboat Cottage') and follow the road past the bungalow then turn right. Ferryboat Cottage is the old cottage directly in front on you.
