Carraway - Getting There
Getting there from the Information Centre
From Dunoon TIC take the A815 until you reach Strachur, approx 18 miles. when you reach the STRACHUR sign & the 40mph signs, take the next left, pass the school & at Cowal Farm take the small road on the left, we are the middle house.
Getting There by Car

Drive along the A82 Loch Lomond. At Tarbet follow the A83 signposted Campbeltown, and over the Rest & Be Thankful. Stop for a moment at the viewpoint and take in the view back down the valley. You can still see the old road which climbed so steeply that it was christened Rest & Be Thankful!
Continue for approximately 15 miles, then turn left on the A815 signposted Dunoon.
When you reach STRACHUR continue straight on, past the petrol station and turn right at the sign for Glenbranter, you will see our B & B sign at the end of the road. Past the school and at Cowal Farm take the small road on the left, we are the middle house.
Getting There by Railway
From Glasgow Central Station to Gourock, then by Caledonian MacBrayne ferry to Dunoon. The local bus leaves the ferry terminal at 08.50, 12.20 and 17.50 Monday - Saturday.
The route takes you along Loch Eck.
The bus will stop on request just after the Strachur 40mph sign. You will see our sign at the end of the road. We are a couple of minutes walk from there.
Getting there by Aeroplane
Fly direct to Glasgow Airport, we are one hour away by car. Following the A83 route along scenic Loch Lomond and then A83 over the rest and be thankful. Turn left at the junction with the A815 and enjoy fabulous views out across Loch Fyne, along to Strachur, you will see our signs after you pass the petrol station.
Getting There by Ferry
Via the Caledonian MacBrayne car ferry from Gourock to Dunoon or the Western Ferry from McInroes Point to Hunters Quay & the follow the A815 to Strachur. The route will take you past Benmore Botanic Gardens and along Loch Eck.
At the Strachur 40mph sign, take the next left, pass the school & at Cowal Farm take the small road on the left, we are the middle house.
Via Caledonian MacBrayne from Tarbert on the Kintyre peninsula across Loch Fyne to Portavadie. Follow signs for Tighnabruaich & A8003, then A886 through Glendaruel to Strachur, approximately 24 miles. Turn right at the junction, signposted Dunoon. Continue for a short distance past the petrol station and take the next road to the right, signposted Glenbranter. You will see our sign at the end of the road.
