Nether Barr Steading

Traditional courtyard steading converted into six self catering lodges.
Set in 15 acres of farmland elevated above the River Cree, The Nether Barr Steading enjoys magnificent views towards the Galloway Hills. Situated one mile from Newton Stewart, the Steading dates back to the 1800's and was originally the stud farm for Lord Galloway's estate.
The conversion won an award from the Galloway Preservation Society.
Our six lodges sleep between two and six guests and each lodge has been individually designed to incorporate the original building design.
The public areas are open plan incorporating lounge/dining area/kitchen, allowing the rooms to have a light and airy feel.
The kitchens are fully equipped with electric cooker, microwave, fridge/freezer and washer/dryer.
The lounge areas have flat screen LCD televisions with built in freeview, DVD player and CD player.
All bathrooms have a shaver point and a shower and/or bath. Linen (except of cots) and towels are provided.
Well behaved dogs are welcome but must be kept on a lead.
The contrasting landscapes around Newton Stewart make the area a haven for any lover of the outdoors. This is an ideal base for a range of activities including golfing, fishing, walking, shooting, sailing, cycling and bird-watching.
A newly built walkway/cycle path has been built from Nether Barr to Newton Stewart. Ideal for guest to walk into town.
