The farm itself boasts an abundance of purebred and pedigree ewes and is reputed to be the birthplace of one of Scotland’s most famous engineers, Thomas Telford.
Ideally located for walking, cycling, wildlife spotting and exploring the region’s history and archaeological features, Jamestown offers a wealth of activities and attractions within a short distance. There are a number of major salmon and trout rivers in the area which are popular with anglers, while golfers will be spoiled for choice with over 30 golf courses to choose from including a challenging 9-hole course in nearby Langholm. Gretna Green is within easy driving distance if you want to browse its designer outlet and of course explore the town’s romantic history.
