Overcairn Cottage offers high quality self catering accommodation in Scotland. Located in Ayrshire near New Cumnock, close to where the famous Scottish poet Robert Burns lived, Overcairn Self Catering Cottage offers stunning panoramic views over the Scottish countryside.

New Cumnock is centrally located in Scotland - the cottage is 37 miles North of Dumfries, 45 miles South of Glasgow (both easily accessible via the A76) and 70 miles South West of Edinburgh. There are some amazing drives through the stunning Scottish countryside and the owners will gladly advise you of the most picturesque routes. New Cumnock is also close to Prestwick airport and the stunning West Coast of Scotland (approximately 30 miles North West)

Overcairn Cottage is situated on Overcairn Farm and is owner maintained. The property sleeps up to six people in comfort and contains all the amenities expected in a comfortable, quality self catering cottage. Overcairn consists of three bedrooms - one ground floor twin and two doubles - two bathrooms - one family and one en-suite - a lounge and a large fully equipped kitchen with dining area. There is a utility room with washing machine and private parking outside of the property.

There are many activities in Cumnock, New Cumnock and the surrounding countryside. There are walks, museums and areas of historical significance. Overcairn Farm backs on to Black Hill and there are peaceful paths and forest tracks suitable for walking or mountain biking.

You can also take a day trip to the stunning West Coast of Scotland (30 miles East), up to the thriving city of Glasgow (45 miles) or even across to Edinburgh (70 miles) - see the map of Scotland

Ayrshire has an amazing history:
William Wallace (1270-1305) began his rise to fame by operating as an outlaw in Ayrshire. Robert the Bruce (1274-1329) born at Turnberry Castle, South of Ayr, became Scotland's legendary King. Robert Burns (1759-1796) Scotland's best known poet, was born in Alloway, South of Ayr.
