The property is 3 miles from Stranraer where visitors can enjoy a variety of shops, bars, restaurants, parks, leisure facilities or even catch a ferry to Ireland for a days sightseeing or shopping. The village or Lochans is approximately 0.25 miles away and has a shop, which doubles as a Post Office each morning and a pub with a restaurant area. The picturesque village of Portpatrick is also just 6 miles away and is very popular with locals and visitors alike.

For those energetic visitors there are four local golf courses, various walks (including the start of the Southern Upland Way), fishing and sailing.
