Orchard House - Getting There

Getting there from the Information Centre

From the Edinburgh City bypass (A720) take "Straiton Junction" A701 to Penicuik/Peebles. Follow A701 to sign for Roslin (3 miles). In Roslin Village pass the entrance to Rosslyn Chapel and continue to 30MPH sign and turn left onto B7003 signposted Rosewell. After 2 miles come to staggered junction on A6094. Turn left and 50 yds turn right into village of Rosewell. Continue to T junction on main street and turn right. After 80 yds turn right onto Whitehill Road. Continue down this road for 300 yds until you come to wrought iron gates in wall. You have now arrived at Orchard House.

Getting There by Car

Getting There by Railway

Take train to Edinburgh Waverley and take taxi to Orchard House or if travelling by bus walk up steps at side of Balmoral Hotel onto Princes Street. Turn right and after 50 yds turn right onto North Bridge. From the bus stops on opposite side of road you will get either the 49 or 79 service which will take you to the village of Rosewell. Get off bus one stop before terminus (next to post box) and walk on for 80 yds to Whitehill Road on your left. Continue down Whitehill Road for 300 yds until you come to wrought iron gates in wall. You have now arrived at Orchard House.

Getting there by Aeroplane

From Edinburgh Airport take taxi to Orchard House or if travelling by bus take the No 100 Airlink Bus from the airport to Waverly Bridge in the centre of Edinburgh. Walk approximately 150 yds to the road on the far side of the Balmoral Hotel which is called North Bridge. From the bus stops on opposite side of road you will get either the 49 or 79 service which will take you to the village of Rosewell. Get off bus one stop before terminus (next to post box) and walk on for 80 yds to Whitehill Road on your left. Continue down Whitehill Road for 300 yds until you come to wrought iron gates in wall. You have now arrived at Orchard House.
