Invercauld Lodges

Six attractive pine lodges offering four star self catering accommodation only 400 yards from the centre of beautiful Ballater. These cosy and peaceful lodges offer short breaks, weekend breaks and longer holidays. The lodges are secluded and provide excellent facilities. Children and pets are very welcome and a children’s play area is on site. The lodges cater for 3 persons in the smaller and four or five persons in the larger lodges. Extra beds, cots and highchairs can all be provided free of charge. All of the lodges have decking where barbecues (provided) can be used or alternatively sit out on the decking and enjoy the peace and quiet amidst centuries old trees. The lodges are situated at the end of a 100 yard driveway offering safe, secure and quiet accommodation for young and old. Invercauld Lodges are available all year round and offer excellent value for money whether in high summer or outwith the main tourism period. All Lodges have televisions and DVD players and a well equipped kitchen. The smaller lodges (named Birkhall, Balmoral and Glenmuick) have an open plan living/kitchen area, a single bedroom and a double bedroom. The larger lodges have an open plan kitchen/living area and two double bedrooms. The larger lodges (named Craigendarroch, Lochnagar and Craigcoillich) can accommodate an extra bed in the living area making them suitable for five persons.
Enjoy Scottish self catering at its best. We have a very high percentage of returnees – people who come to Invercauld Lodges time after time, visit after visit. Over the years the children of the Lodges first guests are now arriving as guests in their own right - showing the lovely facilities and superb location Invercauld Lodges enjoys. Although the six pine lodges are located only 400 yards from the village centre and only 200 yards from the golf course, the secluded grounds and quiet surroundings are, for both children and adults alike, an ideal safe and peaceful environment. The Lodges can be reached through a 100 yard driveway and are surrounded by traditional Scottish pines some hundreds of years old. The three smaller Lodges, Birkhall, Balmoral and Glenmuick, enjoy a double bedroom and a single bedroom with an open plan kitchen/dining area. The larger Lodges, Craigendarroch, Lochnagar and Craigcoillich, have two double bedrooms (some with twin beds) and a larger kitchen and living area. These larger lodges can accommodate an extra bed making them suitable for five persons. Facilities on site include barbecues, a laundry and a children’s play area. The Lodges themselves are well equipped with televisions and DVD players. A Welcome pack is provided with tea, coffee, hot chocolate, biscuits and a little libation to revive guests who have travelled a distance. Bed linen and towels are included and guests can request cots, high chairs and extra beds all free of charge. The Lodges are available for short breaks, weekend breaks and weekly or longer stays and are open all year round. Some of the nicest weather is actually outwith High Season in May/June and September/October when the village is much quieter and the mountains are at their majestic best. The Spring time has very long days and can often be quite warm and dry. The Autumn has sunny days and glorious twilights when stags can be heard from the village rutting in the surrounding hills and mountains. Invercauld Lodges offers special prices and significant cost saving opportunities in January – March and November when, outwith the peak holiday season, guests can experience especially quiet times when the villages, hills and cycle trails are almost deserted. Christmas and New Year is a superb period for Highland hospitality whether in a small group or with a larger circle of friends. Invercauld Lodges are particularly attractive at this time of year - especially if we have a white Christmas! The Lodges are often booked by several families at this time to enjoy a quiet Christmas away from it all or just to be able to be with a larger number of people than would perhaps be ordinarily possible. Similarly at New Year the Lodges come into their own with partying on Hogmanay into the wee sma hours. Skiing in the winter and springtime is a sport which can be enjoyed from your base at Invercauld Lodges, the Lecht and Glenshee ski slopes are relatively close by. Of course it is lovely to return to your cosy and dry Lodge at the end of a day out in the fresh air – whether skiing, walking or cycling. The self catering nature of Invercauld Lodges means that you have complete flexibility with dining and relaxing. Fine dining is available as is ‘take away’ ranging from fish and chips to Chinese to Italian – again all within minutes of Invercauld Lodges. The self contained and peaceful nature of the gardens where the Lodges are situated means that everyone – children and adults alike, the old and the young – can enjoy excellent four star accommodation in tranquil and beautiful surroundings. We have enjoyed Ballater for many years and we look forward to welcoming you to Invercauld Lodges. Thank you for considering the Lodges. David and Louise Hagan.
