Unwind in our tranquil location on the island of Sanday. We are a minute away from a beautiful beach. We offer a range of wholesome homemade vegetarian meals in a cosy atmosphere. We use organic Orkney produce wherever possible. We also have an all day café offering light lunches, afternoon teas and a take away picnic service.

We are a 150-year-old Victorian farmhouse situated on the beautiful island of Sanday, overlooking Backaskaill Bay, a vast sweeping beach with white sands. Here at Backaskaill we do our very best to ensure that all our guests enjoy a relaxing break in this quiet location, with wonderful scenery, fantastic sunsets and walks along the beach, which is literally on our doorstep.

At Backaskaill we provide tasty & wholesome home cooked vegetarian meals using fresh local ingredients whenever possible. Meals are served in our upstairs dining room with a log fire, overlooking the sea. Vegan & special diets can be readily catered for if notice given. Complimentary tea & coffee is served on arrival. A free pick up service is offered to our guests if required.

We can also offer something extra for those who wish to unwind and relax and enjoy their well-earned break. With a choice of treatments from a local mobile therapist.

Well behaved dogs considered by prior arrangement.
