Dundas Castle - Getting There
Getting there from the Information Centre
From Centre of Edinburgh and Waverly TIC:
If travelling from the centre of Edinburgh, the best route to take is along Queensferry Road and on the A90, towards the Forth Road Bridge. At Echline Junction (the last slip road before the Bridge) take the road up to the roundabout. Turn right at the third exit on to the A8000. Head straight over the next roundabout. The entrance to the Castle is on the right 300 meters after leaving the roundabout (and over the flyover) there are signs by the Main gate.
Getting There by Car

From north of the Forth Cross the Forth Road Bridge:
Once over the bridge stay in the left lane and take the first slip road with signs to the A8000. At the roundabout take the first exit following signs for the A8000. Head straight over the next roundabout still following signs for the A8000 and the entrance to Dundas Castle is on your right 300 meters after this second roundabout.
From the South:
Take the A720 Edinburgh City Bypass to the junction with the M8. Head west to Junction 2 and then bear north towards the ‘Newbridge roundabout’. Take the M9 and at Junction 1, follow signs for the Forth Road Bridge. This short road will bring you to a mini roundabout with the A8000. Turn left and Dundas Castle is on the left. Please approach from the north entrance.
Getting There by Railway
There are 2 main railway stations in Edinburgh. Waverley Station and Haymarket Station. Haymarket is slightly closer to Dundas Castle and is about a 25 minute drive away from the Castle depending on traffic. There is a station in Dalmeny (by South Queensferry) that is a 5 minute drive from Dundas Castle called Dalmeny Station. A taxi will have to be pre-booked to transport guests from the Dalmeny to Dundas Castle.
Getting there by Aeroplane
If travelling from Edinburgh Airport, exit the airport, take the A8 heading towards the Forth Road Bridge (right at the second roundabout). This road will take you to ‘Newbridge roundabout’ and take the exit for the M9 sign posted for the Forth Road Bridge. Take the first exit on the M9, which will lead you round to the ‘Humbie roundabout’ and take first left onto the A8000. The Dundas entrance is approximately half a mile on the left hand side, with signs by the Main gate. It is about a 15 minute car journey from the airport to Dundas Castle.
