Millstonford House Bed & Breakfast

Millstonford House

Information enquiry Booking

Millstonford House is a neo Georgian farmhouse, surrounded by mature gardens, with lovely views of the Ayrshire countryside and beyond to the Firth of Clyde. The house has been a happy home to our families over the last 20 years. Three bedrooms are available for bed and breakfast and the accommodation is flexible to provide for particular needs ie sleeping 3 in a family room.
Our rooms have recently been refurbished and we offer a friendly and relaxed service. We provide a range of home cooked foods for breakfast and use organic and local produce as much as possible.
The house is easily accessed from the A78 and is close to the shore, cycle paths and pleasant walks. Hunterston Castle is a leisurely 15 minutes away by foot. We are pleased to offer guests advice on places to visit, things to do and where to eat. For the golfers amongst you this area will be a delight and Stewart would be happy to offer you advice from his considerable knowledge of Scottish courses.
We are close to the ferry terminals for Arran, Bute and Cumbrae . We are approximately 30 minutes from Prestwick airport and 45 minutes from Glasgow International airport.
Our location is useful for relatives and friends attending family events, for local holiday makers and for those heading to other parts of Scotland.

Millstonford House was opened to guests in May 2006. It is owned and managed by Stewart Watt and Kay Hall who are both retired teachers.
Over the years we have welcomed guests from all over the world and finding ourselves home alone we decided to extend the invitation and opened up the house to provide a Bed and Breakfast service. Since then we have received guests from England, Germany, Italy, France, the US of A and even Scotland.
We offer a friendly but not intrusive welcome. We are happy to provide for individual needs and to offer advice and information.
The surrounding area has many opportunities for recreation. There is a strong Burns culture and visiting Alloway is a pleasant way to while away an afternoon.

Walkers have the choice of coastal and hill walks each with their own special unsurpassed scenery.
Fishing is popular with both sea and freshwater venues close by.

The historic Castles at Hunterston and Portencross are only a short country walk away and a number of large country homes and their estates are now accessible such as Culzean and Kelburn.
For those of you with Welsh connections, or a love of the arts, then Mount Stewart on Bute is an absolute must to visit.

A cycle path passes close to the house, which leads to sandy beaches and the sea bird sanctuary at Hunterston Bay (We have cycles and binoculars available if required).
