Doon Cottage
Doon cottage was completely renovated for summer 2003 and tastefully furnished, in keeping with the style and character of the cottage. There is a large, enclosed, well-tended south facing garden at the front. We frequently use the cottage ourselves, which means it is very well and has many comfortable touches throughout. The cottage is 3.5 miles from the historic fishing town of Kirkcudbright which has several coffee shops, restaurants and artists' galleries. Castle Douglas and Gatehouse of Fleet are 8 and 6 miles away respectively and both offer and alternative range of shops and recreational facilities. There are many opportunities nearby for golfing, riding, fishing, cycling and birdwatching. (Brochures, details and recommendations are available in the cottage). The David Coulthard museum and diner in village celebrates Twynholm's own Formula One champion. Short breaks available by negotiation. A 20% deposit should be made when booking, with the balance received at least 14 workings days prior to a holiday commencing. Prices are fully inclusive of all fuel & linen. Sorry no pets or smoking.
