Granny Curly's Cottage

Granny Curly's cottage is a traditional detached fishermans cottage in a peaceful village within a conservation area of Gardenstown set within Gamrie Bay. The cottage has recently been sympathetically refurbished to a high standard and enjoys spectacular sea views. The cottage is well fitted out and at the cooler months of the year you will enjoy sitting by the wood burning stove in the evening.
Beaches, country walks and harbour are all close by. The hotel and local shops, including a butcher and baker are in easy walking distance and cafes are located around the harbour.
Gamrie Bay and adjacent coastline are stunningly beautiful. The majestic cliffs, secluded bays and rocky outcrops are home to rare seabird colonies. There is an abundance of wild coastal flowers, birds of prey and many other interesting flora and fauna including orchids, badgers, foxes and roe deer, whilst the sea is a home to dolphins and seals.
East of Gamrie Bay lies Pennan made famous as the main location for the movie "Local Hero". Pennan continues to attract visitors from around the world to its popular hotel.
Children will love the freedom that village life brings and will spend hours looking for crabs and shellfish under rocks and paddling in the pools. The area has yet to be fully discovered by tourism despite the climate being well favoured with above average sunshine and below average rainfall for the United Kingdom - it really is a well kept secret which you will delight in uncovering.
Please not that there are steps leading to this property which means it may not be suitable for the disabled or for eldery people.
