Ledard Farm
Stay on a working Highland sheep farm in the heart of the Loch Lomond & The Trossachs National Park. The farm is home to the Scottish Sheepdog School and operates the Horses Welcome scheme in association with the British Horse Society (Scotland). Outdoor activities including fishing, clay and target rifle shooting, quad biking, mountain biking, canoeing and windsurfing are available on or adjacent to the farm.
Ledard Farm has accommodation for 10 persons in twin bedded bothies with attached showers, washing and toilet facilities. Cooking facilities are available and the well-stocked village shop is ten minutes walk from the farm.
The farm is an ideal base for hill walking and climbing with Ben Venue and Ben Lomond immediately adjacent. The West Highland Way can be easily accessed at Inversnaid on Loch Lomondside.
The farm’s history goes back to the 15 th Century and the central buildings date from 1604. The farm was a traditional gathering place for the Clans MacFarlane and MacGregor.
Rob Roy came of age on the farm in October 1689 a few months after fighting at the Battle of Killiecrankie.
The farm is home to a flock of Shetland Sheep, domestic and wild goats, horses, and 18 sheepdogs at the Scottish Sheepdog School.
