Mansefield House is a grand Grade B listed Victorian house built circa 1840
which retains many original features. Large gracious reception rooms with
high ceilings and ornate cornicing lend themselves to entertaining, while
the main character of the house is warm, comfortable and homely. A large
dining room with wood burning stove, large sitting room and spacious kitchen with range cooker comprise the main rooms of the house. There is also a games room with a 6x3ft snooker table, with doors leading to the patio and garden.
<P>The house stands in an elevated position with large private garden, situated on the shores of Loch Long with uninterrupted views of Loch Long and the Arrochar Alps. Loch Lomond lies 2 miles to the East.
<P>In the heart of the Loch Lomond and the Trossachs National Park, activities such as walking, climbing, golf, mountain biking, horse riding, fishing, sailing and various other watersports are on the doorstep, while the centre of Glasgow and its abundance of culture is only a 45 minute drive away. In the winter, Glencoe, less than an hour¹s drive, offers superb skiing and snow-boarding. The immediate area has a wealth of attractions, including Inveraray Castle, Charles Rennie Mackintosh's Hill House, the glorious gardens of Argyll and Bute, and the Glengoyne Whisky Distillery.
<P>The house is situated 100 yards from the Village Inn, a well renowned
traditional bar and restaurant serving excellent Scottish fayre, which
appears in the Good Beer Guide 2003. Other fine restaurants in the vicinity include and The Loch Fyne Oyster Bar, The Creggans Inn, Cameron House Hotel and Loch Lomond Castle Lodges. The village shop is a two minute walk from the house, and other amenities are close by.
