Armandii Cottage

Offering a superb rural base, this beautiful cottage is set in 1.2 acres of glorious gardens which contains a Natiional Collection of Fragrant flowered Hostas, mature trees, shrubs and hundreds of herbaceous perennials. Sorry no Pets.

Located next to the owner’s B listed lodge, this comfortable cottage has a light and airy feel with cream walls, solid tiled floors and rugs throughout. On arrival you will find a complimentary tea tray with homemade cakes as well as a welcome pack of essentials including bread, butter, eggs, milk, tea, coffee and sugar (full weeks only, SB will include tea tray, milk, tea, coffee sugar) All bed linen, towels, electricity and heating are also included in your rate.

The heating and water is all electric and the kitchen is well equipped with a fridge (use of freezer on request), washer/dryer, microwave and an electric cooker as well as many other little extras which will make your stay great. The open-plan living and dining area has a comfy sofa, coffee table, book rack, dining table and chairs. The double bedroom has an elegant Victorian-style metal bed, a dressing table and a built-in wardrobe.

Nearby, Newtonairds Forest abounds with wildlife and there is a lot to see and do. Excellent fishing is only a stone’s throw away in the River Cairn opposite and slightly further afield, the River Nith is renowned for its salmon. You are less than 7 miles away from the busy town of Dumfries and all its attractions including historical tourist sites such as the Robert Burns Centre and House, Family History Research Centre and the Dumfries Museum and Camera Obscura.
