Auld Smiddy Cottage and Glen Auchie Cottage

Providing the ideal base for romantic getaways and fun-filled family holidays, the cottages are situated within walking distance of an RSPB centre, one of Scotland’s oldest lighthouses and a beautiful turfed roof restaurant.
The cottages are situated in the Mull of Galloway, Scotland’s most southerly point, and enjoy sweeping sea views to the Irish Sea over a dramatic coastal landscape teeming with wildlife and gentle farmland. Auld Smiddy Cottage and Glen Auchie Cottage are full of character and offer home-from-home comforts providing the perfect Scottish retreat. Sleeping four, Glen Auchie is an 18th century traditional stone country cottage set in 0.5 acre of mature garden. Alternatively, Auld Smiddy is also a traditional stone country cottage which has recently been converted to offer beautiful open-plan accommodation for two including a conservatory with spectacular views and a cosy log stove that’s perfect for chiller nights.
Fantastic local attractions include the beautiful Castle Kennedy Gardens and Logan Botanic Gardens, the Stranraer Museum, the historic Castle of St John, and the RSPB Mull of Galloway, located at the southern most point of the Rhinns of Galloway near charming Drummore. The area also offers first-class cycling and walking routes with Scotland's longest and most challenging walking route, the Southern Upland Way starting in the region.
