Welcome to Fernbank House……..

Built in 1892 Fernbank House is the former Victorian property of James Watson & Company Wine & Spirit merchants who homed their Customs & Excise manager here to keep a close eye on the activities of Parkmore Distillery opposite, now sadly closed since 1931 when it is rumoured that the water source became unsuitable for whisky distilling. That has never been a problem for the famous Glenfiddich and Balvenie located a short walk away from us.

Now a family home, Fernbank has opened it’s doors giving you the opportunity to be part of Dufftown the Malt Whisky Capital. Whether you are on the Whisky or Castle trails or simply here to relax and enjoy some shooting, fishing, golf, walking, cycling, riding, skiing…….just some of our local activities, come home to us……..you are guaranteed a genuine warm welcome.

Our spacious, en-suite non-smoking rooms are exceptional high quality yet excellent value, with an emphasis on your comfort, cleanliness and warmth. Balvenie our Kingsize room can be used as a double or twin, with a Private Bathroom .Parkmore is our double en-suite and Glenfiddich is our twin room en-suite with double beds for extra comfort.
If after a hard days “holidaying” you are too tired to explore the village just a few minutes away then take the opportunity to sit and relax in front of our log fire or on a fine summers evening in our beautiful secluded woodland garden. We provide an excellent value four course menu at £27.50 Advance reservations are required at time of booking.

Please note Fernbank House has a check-in time of 5pm - 7pm. We are more than happy to accommodate other times , but please contact us to ensure someone is here to greet you - Thank You.

There is ample private parking and safe storage facilities for bikes, skis, rods etc.

Should your days activities take you off the beat and track we are happy to provide packed lunches .
