Traditional Highland cottage directly across from a beautiful white sand beach. Stunning walks along coastline and nearby hills. Wildlife: Sea Eagles, Otters, Deer, Seabirds. 3 Bedrooms, sleeping 6; restored interior with brand new kitchen, wood stove and stone floors. Large fenced garden. Dogs welcome.
Sands Cottage is a two-storey traditional Highland cottage, sleeping six, situated some 20 yards from the long white sandy beach of Calgary Bay. The cottage has a fenced garden of about half an acre.
The cottage has 3 bedrooms. The accommodation is comprised of double bedroom downstairs and two rooms with twin beds upstairs. A travel cot is provided for infants.
Downstairs has stone floors throughout with a sitting room with wood burning stove and a new (2010) dining kitchen seating six with integrated electric four ring cooker, grill and oven, dishwasher, microwave and fridge freezer.
The double bedroom has an en-suite with electric shower, hand basin and WC. The family bathroom is upstairs with a bath, hand basin and WC.
We supply duvets and pillows with duvet covers, blankets, fitted sheets and pillows, however, towels should be brought with you.
There are three electric storage heaters downstairs as well as three electric storage heaters upstairs. The cottage has a TV/DVD player (no TV signal due to the surrounding hills of the bay), books, board games, and a stereo. Dogs are permitted but must remain on the ground floor. The cottage is strictly non-smoking.
The island is ideal for walking and cycling. There are nearby opportunities for sailing and boat trips to local islands. Wildlife is prolific and includes golden and sea eagles, falcons and many other species of birds, otters, seals and deer. The island also offers fishing (sea and loch) for trout and salmon and there are several lochs close to the cottage.
There is a charge for electricity used at the cottage and an electricity deposit will be requested upon final payment of the rental fee.
