Located in the North of Fife minutes drive from St Andrews and Dundee the St Michaels is ideally situated for business or pleasure travellers.
The Inn itself is over 200 years old and provides an opportunity to stay in a traditional 18th Century Scottish coaching inn, that has all the comforts of the modern age.
We have 8 ensuite letting bedrooms, each with self controlled heating facilities, hairdryers, satellite TV, and complimentary Tea and Coffee facilities.
Our location makes us an ideal centre for the golf enthusiast with over 30 golf courses within 30 minutes drive; including the home of golf itself; the world famous Old Course at St Andrews.
A warm welcome awaits the visitor to the St Michaels or ”St Mikes” as it is affectionately known locally. The Inn is over 200 years old and although it has been extended and modernised down through the years its still retains much of its traditional country charm. Stout walls. Low ceilings, restful furnishings and real flame fires provide a cosy and homely feel that is reinforced by the “can do” friendly attitude of our staff.
The food at St Michaels reflects what we are as a business. Its traditional, value for money, generous and good quality. We aim to use as far as possible the freshest local ingredients and indeed most of our produce comes from within a 10 mile radius of the St Michaels. Our fish is delivered fresh from the fishing village of Pitenweem on a daily basis, and our meats from an award winning local butcher who primarily supplies Scottish beef.
The St Michaels is a popular venue for many of life’s occasions where families gather together to mark an event. Over the course of a year we see many; christenings, birthday parties, graduations, engagements, weddings, anniversaries, retirements and funerals.
The St Michaels has a large purpose built and self contained function suite that holds up to 150 people. The room has a bright and spacious feel to it, with large picture windows looking out onto the landscaped gardens, side doors open out onto the gardens for guests to enjoy in the finer months. The room has a permanent dance floor, its own bar, toilets including disabled and has its own dedicated entrance and reception area.
The St Michaels now holds a wedding licence and many couples choose to have everything carried out in the same place, ceremonies take place in the Garden suite, photos in the gardens itself, wedding meal in the garden room and the evening reception, dance and buffet in the garden room.
Parking is never a problem either, a large car park to either side of the Inn means you should never have to walk that far.
So really the St Michaels is a venue for many occasions; be it a business trip stopover, a golfing holiday, a walking or cycling holiday along the coast, a convenient base for exploring the local area, a special family gathering or perhaps you may just want to come along for lunch or dinner, we are open every day of the year apart from boxing day and the 1st and 2nd of January each year.
