Getting there from the Information Centre

Getting There by Car

From the South: Leaving the M6, join the M74 and leave at Junction 5 for the A725, signed for Coatbridge. Join the A89, signed for Airdrie and follow the A89 until Blackridge. Soon after entering Blackridge turn left, entering Woodhill Road. Follow the farm track directly in front of you for 300m. The croft is marked by a number 6 at the entrance.

From the North: After the Forth Bridge, follow signs for the M9 then take signs for Glasgow and join the M8. Leave at Junction 4 and take signs for Falkirk / Armadale. Join the A89 and drive through Armadale until you enter Blackridge. Drive through Blackridge until you are almost out of the village and turn right into Woodhill Road. Follow the farm track directly in front of you for 300m. The croft entrance is marked by a number 6.

Getting There by Railway

There is no railway station in Blackridge, but the village is accessible by regular bus services from Bathgate railway station which is a 30 minute journey from the main Edinburgh Waverley station. Contact First Group (0870 727271) or Bulldog Travel (01506 636366) for bus timetable information.

Getting there by Aeroplane

The nearest airport is Edinburgh Airport (Junction 2 from the M8). Hire a car from the airport and join the M8. Leave the M8 at Junction 4 and follow signs for Falkirk / Armadale. Join the A89 and drive through Armadale until you enter Blackridge. Drive through Blackridge until you are almost out of the village and turn right into Woodhill Road. Follow the farm track directly in front of you for 300m. The croft is marked by a number 6 at the entrance.

Getting There by Ferry

The nearest ferry is the Rosyth - Zeebrugge car ferry operated by Superfast. Follow signs for the Forth Road Bridge from Rosyth ferry terminal then for the M9. Take the route signed for Glasgow and join the M8. Leave at Junction 4 and take signs for Falkirk / Armadale. Join the A89 and drive through Armadale until you enter Blackridge. Drive through Blackridge until you are almost out of the village and turn right into Woodhill Road. Follow the farm track directly in front of you for 300m.
