The Beach House
The Beach House is a newly-built luxury house situated on a large private site on Shore Road in the idyllic village of Kildonan, Isle of Arran, overlooking the beach. The property is on the south side of the island and commands stunning views over the Ayrshire coastline and westwards to Ireland and beyond. It also boasts superb views of the Mull of Kintyre, Ailsa Craig and Pladda island. It is an ideal base for walkers, golfers, sailors and cyclists or those simply looking to have a really relaxing break.
Kildonan beach is noted for its large variety of sea birds and seal colonies. The seals can be seen from The Beach House most days, basking on the rocks along the shore. We are often visited by sharks, porpoises and dolphins, courtesy of the warm Gulf Stream currents. As you marvel at the views and the huge variety of wildlife, the children can play on the large lawn or explore the rock pools on the beach. Kildonan is well-served by a local hotel complete with cosy bar and excellent restaurant, and by a well-stocked grocers’ store and post office. The Beach House is fully equipped to high standards and offers a homely welcome. It is fully double glazed and centrally heated throughout and all fuel costs are included in the rental. The property is owned by a disabled person and it is designed to accommodate a wheelchair.
The Beach House is a new luxury house, built on a large private enclosed site, with uninterrupted views of the sea. It is situated in the picturesque village of Kildonan, on the southerly point of the island of Arran. The Kildonan Hotel is only a five minute stroll from the property and has a popular and vibrant bar serving real ales and excellent bar meals, and a top class restaurant. The village is also served by a well-stocked local grocers’ shop/post office.
Kildonan is situated just off the island’s main circular trunk road and is very popular with nature lovers and wildlife enthusiasts. The Beach House really is the idyllic holiday spot. The property has a large open plan lounge, dining and kitchen area. There are two spacious bedrooms and two bathrooms (one en-suite) downstairs. Upstairs, there are two further large bedrooms and a toilet/shower room, as well as a “den” area which offers a quiet retreat to sit and read, enjoy music or simply relax. The large entrance porch also doubles as a utility room equipped with washing machine, tumble drier and excellent facilities to hang outdoor clothing. The modern kitchen is very well fitted with gas hob, electric fan oven, dishwasher, fridge, freezer, microwave and many other essential features.
The lounge has a large LCD television (with SKY PLUS and full SKY package, including movies and sports channels), a DVD/video and hi-fi. The front-facing French doors lead onto an extensive enclosed decked area, with breathtaking views of the beach, Kildonan Bay and the twin islands of Pladda and Ailsa Craig. A further set of French doors open off the dining area onto the rear of the property, which provides access to a large private patio area and drying green. The lounge offers superb comfort and magnificent panoramic views across the bay. The Beach House is wheelchair-accessible and disabled-friendly. The owner is herself disabled, confined to a wheelchair and would be very happy to give advice on the facilities available. All bed linen and towels are provided and electricity/gas are included in the rental price. Well-behaved pets may be accepted, but only by prior arrangement with the owner.
