The Old School - Getting There

Getting there from the Information Centre

Take theA85 (signposted Crianlarich, Fort William) from Oban to Taynuilt. Shortly after Taynuilt turn right onto the B845 (signposted Kilchrenan). Stay on the B845 for 15 miles until you arrive at Dalavich. Turn left past the Post Office. The Old School is the first entrance on your right.

Getting There by Car

Stay on the B845 for 15 miles until you arrive at Dalavich. Turn left past the Post Office. The Old School is the first entrance on your right.

From Crianlarich: Take the A82 (signposted Fort William, Oban). At Tyndrum turn left onto the A85 (signposted Oban). Continue through Loch Awe. At Taynuilt turn left onto the B845 (signposted Kilchrenan). Stay on the B845 for 15 miles until you arrive at Dalavich. Turn left past the Post Office. The Old School is the first entrance on your right.

Getting There by Railway

Trains run from Oban and Glasgow to the railway station in Taynuilt. If you are travelling by bike, it’s a 15 mile cycle along the the B845 (signposted Kilchrenan) from Taynuilt.

Getting there by Aeroplane

The nearest airports are Prestwick Airport (125 miles), Inverness Airport (136 miles), Glasgow Airport (100 miles) and Edinburgh Airport (117 miles). From there you can travel by car or train to Taynuilt. We will be happy to advise you further or organise transport from the airports for you.

Getting There by Ferry

If you are island hopping and arrive in Oban, you can catch a train from Oban to Taynuilt or contact us to organise transport.
