Location

Hillcrest Cottage is situated on a beef farm in the heart of Ayrshire. Whilst enjoying a quiet and peaceful location we are only 5 minutes drive from Prestwick Airport and are within easy access to all major road networks. The cottage was built in the 1980's and has recently been refurbished to a high standard. The field behind the property has calving cows from spring through to the summer months and you might be lucky enough to see a cow calving or witness a calves first few steps. This aspect of the property also enoys open views across the Firth of Clyde to the Isle of Arran which gives us many and varied sunsets to enjoy. There are many local atractions to put on your visit list whilst staying with us; the beautiful National Trust property of Culzean Castle is only a 40 minute drive away to the south of Ayr passing through beautiful countryside taking the coast route through the seaside village of Dunure with it's castle ruin. Kelburn Castle & Country Centre near Largs offers a great day out for families.

A shopping trip to Glasgow or Edinburgh is also an easy journey due to the excellent road links or take a trip by train from the local station at Troon with trains every 30 mins and the journey to Glasgow being only 35mins.
