Dalnoid Holiday Cottages enjoy a stunning location on the hillside above the Shee Water, with mountain & forest views of Mt Blair, Glenshee and Drumore. These 2 high quality holiday cottages offer guests a comfortable, relaxing holiday in spacious, stylish accommodation that was fully renovated & refurbished in 2007.

New Steading Cottage offers a more contemporary experience; Old Steading Cottage is based within the old cattle byre.

Both cottages have all accommodation on the ground floor - 1 small step into the front door - and sleep four, with a king size double room, with en-suite shower room; twin bedroom; family bathroom; large kitchen, living, dining area; decking & private garden. They have both been renovated with the environment in mind & utilise ground source heat pump energy to supply the underfloor heating & hot water throughout.

Located in Glenshee, just 12 miles from the Cairngorms National Park, the cottages are ideally located for enjoying the local countryside or exploring some of Scotland’s best known tourist destinations, including Braemar in Royal Deeside, Pitlochry, Dunkeld, Aberfeldy, Angus Glens & Blairgowrie.

There are numerous walks on our doorstep including The Cateran Trail, Munros & Corbetts. You can also enjoy cycling, fishing, shooting, stalking, pony trekking, multi-activities & the Glenshee Ski Centre, which are all nearby.

New Steading Cottage offers guests a modern, stylish, but comfortable holiday cottage experience, with oak floors and wood-burning stove. Old Steading has a traditional twist, with exposed stone walls, combed ceilings and slate flagstone floors.

Both cottages are tastefully decorated to a high standard and have a host of modern facilities, including underfloor heating throughout and wood-burning stoves.

The kitchens benefit from all mod-cons to make your holiday as relaxing as possible, including fridge freezer, washing machine, dishwasher, microwave and gas cooking. They are very well equipped, so if you want to stay in and self-cater, you should find everything you need.

The comfortable lounge areas include TV with Sky freeview, DVD, CD stereo and large patio doors onto the external decking area which has garden dining table and chairs, barbecue and outdoor bean bag seats for relaxing. Steps down from the decking, lead into large private lawned gardens.

In addition to each of the private gardens, there is access to a further 6 acres of grounds, including a large pond (fenced), where you can take in the lovely views as well as spotting some of the local birds and wildlife, including red squirrels, stoats, roe deer, woodpeckers, siskins, gold finches, jays, owls, birds of prey and many more.

There are a variety of pubs and restaurants in the area, serving high quality local produce, as well as a wider range of restaurants and take-aways in Blairgowrie.

The landscape is spectacular, with fertile farmland giving way to rolling hills and, at the head of the glen, some of the highest peaks in Perthshire crowd in to form a rugged landscape.

Blairgowrie, Pitlochry and Braemar are all within half an hours drive, with Perth and Dundee an hour away, and Edinburgh, Glasgow and Aberdeen within 2 hours. There are many Scottish castles and distilleries within easy driving distance, including the castles of Balmoral, Glamis, Scone and Blair, and distilleries including Bells’, Edradour, Famous Grouse and Royal Lochnagar.

One well-behaved pet is accepted in Old Steading Cottage, for a charge of £10. For the comfort of other guests, we do not allow smoking inside the cottages.

Prices are per cottage, per week, from Saturday - Saturday and are inclusive of all fuel, heating, linen and towels.

Short breaks of up to 4 nights are available from Oct - Mar (excluding Christmas and New Year) at ⅔ of the weekly rental.
