Aite Beathag

A spacious seaside 3 bed bungalow, with sea views from every window and located on a working croft.
Inside, the spacious bungalow has a large, modern dining kitchen equipped to a very high standard, while the views from the 5 metre square living room are worth the visit alone.
The master double bedroom has an en-suite shower room installed to the same high quality as the main family bathroom.
Located on a croft near the visually stunning Braigh Road, the property is a minutes walk to a secluded beach in Broad Bay, which has uninterrupted views across to Stornoway - a mere ten minute drive by car.
Aite Beathag offers the best of both worlds, shore side rural location with nearby town centre amenities.
Aite Beathag is dramatically located on the shore overlooking Broad Bay and the village beach. It’s setting at the edge of the village allows maximum privacy with the reassurance of a village location. Every window from the 3 bedroom bungalow has a sea view, with the spacious living room having open views of the beach, Broad Bay plus southerly views over the Braigh to the Minch and mountains of South Lewis and Harris.
The secluded beach and small lochan are only a 1 minute walk from the front door. A further 5 minute stroll will take to you to both of the Braigh’s stunningly long beaches. The shingle beach enjoys views to the minch while the sandy beach is the location of the historic ruins of St Columba’s first church of the islands. The present ruins are no earlier than the 14th century and the church was used as a burial site for the Macleods during the 15th and 16th centuries and occupies the same site as Saint Catan of the 6th and 7th century.
By car or bus the town centre of Stornowy is a ten minute drive along the Braigh road giving you access to all the usual town centre amenities. It’s an ideal base for exploring the whole isand as well as the nearby beach of Bayble, a twitcher’s paradise at the loch at Tiumpean Head and the dramatic cliff-top lighthouse.
Within Aite Beathag the spacious lounge with LCD TV, DVD player, stereo and Freeview vie for the attention with the 3 metre cinema-like window. The living room also has a comfortable sofa bed to accommodate an extra 2 guests.
The large modern dining kitchen has all the modern conveniences such as dishwasher, microwave, hob, oven, fridge freezer and breakfast bar with the separate utility room offering sink, washer dryer, ironing facilities and outdoor clothing hanging space.
The high quality main bathroom has a deep bath and separate shower cubicle. While the master bedroom has a shower room en-suite.
Aite Beathag is located on my father’s working croft with sheep, hens, arable land and ever-changing seascapes which allow the true atmosphere of rural Lewis to be enjoyed.
