Stay in this superbly appointed cottage,(Prices quoted are for the cottage as a unit NOT per room/ person) ideally situated right on the beach(the courtyard steps lead straight down onto the sands) overlooking beautiful Largo Bay. The breathtaking views over the bay to the famous Bass Rock and beyond over the River Forth to Edinburgh and the Lothians will quickly relax you into your holiday.
Rockpool Cottage provides the perfect setting for a romantic get-away, a family holiday, or a golfing break. The whole area is a Mecca for golfers with numerous championship standard golf courses such as Crail, Elie or Lundin Links and of course the Old Course at St.Andrews one of 6 high quality courses there and now featuring the exciting new Castle Course overlooking the cliffside on St.Andrews Bay. Great too for serious(or gentle) walkers and cyclists with plenty of wildlife to see all along the North East Fife coast by following the Fife Coastal Path specially designed for walkers and the many signposted routes for cyclists. For eating out you will be spoiled for choice with many top quality restaurants and inns in the general locale.

The cottage was recently refurbished(Aug 08) and comfortably gained a 4star rating from the Visit Scotland inspection team. It sleeps up to 5 people. Please note Prices quoted are for the Cottage as a unit NOT per person/room.

Upon your arrival we will show you round to the cottage which adjoins our own residence where you will find a welcome basket of local goodies(including milk in the fridge.)

The beamed low-ceilinged but spacious property consists of an open-plan lounge/dining kitchen, two double bedrooms, and a family bathroom with bath/shower. The lounge has a comfortable sofa, recliner chair and window seat, set round a working open fireplace which burns logs in the colder seasons.. There is a TV, DVD and Video player and a mini HiFi with DAB radio/cd player. The TV receives the FULL Sky Digital package of Movies, Sport and Kids channels whilst a selection of DVDs and Videos are on hand as are a selection of books and games for all the family.
The dining kitchen is fully equipped with everything you should need and incorporates a washing machine, tumble drier, dishwasher, combination microwave, fridge and cooker.
The bedrooms are an impressive feature of the cottage and are beautifully furnished. One bedroom has a double bed whilst the other has twin beds. A very comfortable foldaway bed is available for person No. 5 and a cot and highchair are available on request.
Each room has a TV discreetly wall mounted - these are also linked to the Sky digital reception. Quality bed linen is provided as are bath towels although please bring a supply of your own for beach use if necessary.

Rockpool Cottage is situated in the delightful small East Neuk of Fife fishing vilage of Lower Largo overlooking Largo Bay. The harbour and pier, local store, Railway Inn and Crusoe Hotel are literally within a few yards of the property whilst at the end of the courtyard path outside the front door of the cottage, a set of stone stairs leads right down onto the beach. The views from the courtyard(with patio tables/chairs and bbq) across the bay and over to Edinburgh and the coast down to Berwick, are stunning. The courtyard wall is a tide barrier and at high tide the sea comes right up to the wall. The sound of the waves at night will send even the most stressed out insomniac straight to sleep!

Lower Largo, in keeping with all the fishing villages in the East Neuk of Fife is a small friendly community grouped around a small harbour and pier. Here, access to Main Street and the cottage is across the harbour bridge at the mouth of the River Kiel. The village is famous for it's association with Alexander Selkirk, the inspiration for Daniel Defoe's "Robinson Crusoe", whose statue can be found further along Main Street.

Enjoy walks along our sandy beaches, ideal for the children, a meal at the Crusoe Hotel or a real ale and a snack in the friendly "local" atmosphere of the Railway Inn. There are many other high quality restaurants and inns within very close proximity of the village.

We are very well positioned for trips to St.Andrews(15mins by car) with Dunfermline, Edinburgh and Dundee or Perth all within easy reach.

But we can't close off without mentioning the slow pace of life here, the lovely fresh sea air and the friendlness of the people. Why not just come and see for yourselves!!
