The Lock Keepers Cottage
A delightful and very luxurious ground floor cottage apartment situated in a unique and peaceful location on the banks of the Caledonian Canal at Banavie Bridge on the outskirts of Fort William. The cottage has magnificent views to the front over the Canal, Neptune’s Staircase and the steam railway used in the Harry Potter films. To the rear there are stunning views of Ben Nevis and the surrounding mountains. The property has recently been renovated to a very high standard and has one double bedroom with a Jacobean style four poster and a whirlpool bath with shower over. As well a central heating there is an open fire in the lounge along with satellite TV, a DVD player and a good selection of films, books and local information guides.
The Lock Keepers Cottage is a self-catering apartment which occupies the whole of the ground floor and has one double bedroom with a JACOBEAN FOUR POSTER BED. The eat-in kitchen is fully fitted with cooker, fridge freezer, microwave, washer & dryer and kitchen utensils etc. Washing up liquid, tea towels and cleaning cloths are provided.
The lounge is comfortably furnished and as well as central heating has an open fire which can be lit if so wished to create a very cozy and romantic atmosphere. There is also satellite TV, a DVD player and a radio/CD player.
The large shower room has a modern power shower.
Bed linen, towels, electricity and heating are included in price.
The cottage has well maintained garden areas on both sides with stunning views over the Ben Nevis mountain range and the Caledonian canal. The Jacobite "Harry Potter" steam train can be seen on its majestic journey (May to October only) to Mallaig and the Isle of Skye ferry. With Neptune’s Staircase, a series of eight working Victorian lock gates also in view the cottage is in a unique and impressive location.
The cottage has ample private off road parking.
