Getting there from the Information Centre
From tourist office turn right through village over 2 cattle grids, past youth hostel on past view of sandy beach. Entrance on left after trees.
Getting there by Aeroplane
From Dalcross Airport, A96 to Inverness onto the A9 at roundabout to Dingwall. After 12 miles turn onto A835 towards Ullapool, after Garve turn left onto the A832. Follow road through Achnasheen, Kinlochewe to Gairloch. Turn onto the B8021 through village and on for 3 miles. A total distance of 86 miles. This route will take you past Loch Maree with its islands and the Beinn Eighe National Nature Reserve.
Getting There by Ferry
From Ullapool take Inverness route, the A835 to Braemore junction, a distance of 12 miles. Turn onto the A832 and follow the road through Aultbea and Poolewe to Gairloch, some 55 miles. At the foot of the hill turn right onto the B8021. Follow this road for 3 miles. This route takes you past Corrieshalloch Gorge, Little Loch Broom, Gruinard Island, Loch Ewe, a gathering place for Russian convoy during 2nd world war. At Poolewe the Inverewe Gardens.
