The stunning, sensitively restored interior of this traditional Laird’s house is the perfect setting for a collection of contemporary, mostly Scottish, art.
The warm contemporary feel is continued in the beautifully appointed bedrooms and bathrooms, all with views over the wooded grounds and lily-studded Loch Ruighean an Aitinn.
The food at Blar na Leisg is seriously good. It is based on the prime natural produce of Caithness and Sutherland, from farms using traditional, sustainable methods. The daily changing menus also feature a great variety of locally landed fish and shellfish, including lobster, oysters, and langoustines. Seasonal wild foods and herbs are used extensively. Wonderful vegetarian dishes are imaginatively prepared.
