Ruddyglow Park Country House

Ruddyglow Park from Loch Assynt

Information enquiry Booking

Ruddyglow Park is a small, 5 star, boutique country house, nestled between the foothills of Quinag and the edge of Loch Assynt in the beautiful North-West Highlands of Scotland. We offer outstanding personal service and luxurious bed & breakfast accommodation all set against a backdrop of lovely antique furniture, original paintings and individually designed rooms. A much loved 4 acre garden, full of well established trees and shrubs, surrounds the house giving a feel of extreme privacy but also incredible space, peace and tranquillity. For our sporting guests a drying room, rod room, secure gun cabinet and freezer are available.

Staying at Ruddyglow Park you will quickly realise that you are in one of the most beautiful parts of the world. The possibilities are endless so we encourage you to discover the natural splendour of the surroundings whenever you can.
Guests are welcome to walk round the garden or stroll down to the edge of the loch and soak up the invigorating ambiance and the stunning scenery of the area. Beyond the gardens, you look down onto to the wonderful waters of Loch Assynt; the largest loch in the parish, and beyond that the majestic mountains and heather clad hills.

A place of outstanding natural beauty and unspoilt landscapes that offers total freedom from everyday city life.

Ruddyyglow Park is ideally suited as a base for exploring the North West coast. We are only 6 miles from Lochinver, less than 40 miles from Ullapool and places like Drumbeg, Kylesku, Handa Island, Durness, Cape Wrath and the far north are all within an easy drive. The house is owned and run by Patricia Filmer-Sankey, a native of the parish of Assynt. Attention to detail, guests' wishes, their comfort and their enjoyment, are the main ingredients that the house runs on.

The breath taking views of Loch Assynt, the wild mountains opposite and the many peaks of Quinag to the rear all add to the magic of Ruddyglow Park.

We get many questions about our name. Where did "Ruddyglow" came from? The answer is simple; Patricia's father, the late Captain Filmer-Sankey, had one great love in his early years; riding. His favourite horse, "Ruddyglow" won over 27 races and the Grand Military Gold cup 3 times. An original oil painting, by an artist, of the times, still hangs in the dining room depicting the last Military Gold Cup win.
