Claybokie, Mar Lodge Estate - Images
Mar Lodge Estate is part of the core area of the Cairngorms National Park, internationally recognised as the most important nature conservation landscape in the British Isles.
Visitors come to Mar Lodge Estate, as they have done since Victorian times, to walk, climb, watch wildlife, ski or simply enjoy the scenery.
Mar Lodge was built in Victorian times and retains many of the features of its heyday as a hunting lodge. The apartments and public areas were refurbished in the 1990s and offer guests the opportunity to relax in an elegant and comfortable atmosphere.
Just a few minutes' drive from the main Lodge, the luxurious Claybokie is set in beautiful gardens in its own private estate.
Guests are welcomed to Claybokie by a warm, sunlit hall. Cosy window seating means you can while away hours enjoying the views in comfort!
The beautiful sitting room has an open fire and plenty of comfortable seating to relax in.
There are magnificent views from the lounge and adjacent conservatory over the garden and across to the River Dee and Glen Ey.
The spacious kitchen, with modern appliances and a large Aga, makes cooking a pleasure! We can also put you in touch with a private caterer if you would prefer.
The grand dining room can comfortable seat up to 18 people: perfect for those parties staying in both Claybokie and Creag Bhalg.
