Evie Sands curve in the bay towards the taing at Gurness, where the ancient Broch is a delight to explore.
Castlehill offers visitors to Orkney a unique location to relax and enjoy a peaceful rural location within a few miles of the famous World Heritage Site in Orkney.
We are only 20 minutes away from Kirkwall and Stromness, these two main towns, picturesque in their own right, have an abundance of shopping with high quality produce. As well as crafts & art, there are many historical sites, culture and leisure activities to suit a wide range of interests.
Castlehill is a short drive from local hotels, providing a range of good food.
Castlehill is within a short distance of some of the best lochs for trout fishing in Scotland or why not try your hand at sea fishing in the bay.
We have a 16ft Seastrike which can be hired.
Our home is modern, comfortable and designed so that the magnificent views can be seen from most of the house.
Guests can relax in the TV lounge, main lounge or the sun room.
We have a large collection of books and DVDs that guests are welcome to enjoy.
All bedrooms have access to WiFi/Broadband .
We have plans to add a conservatory which will house the sauna, hot tub and a hydroponic garden.
Packed lunches and evening meals are available to guests.
We always use home baked and local fresh produce when it is available and have filtered mineral rich fresh water from our own well.
We smoke our own fish, meat & cheese
