The Lodge

This recently renovated bungalow is idyllically set in its own secluded, pretty garden on the shores of Loch Ryan, close to Stranraer.

The Lodge offers a great stay and is tastefully decorated throughout. Sleeping four, the cottage has two good sized bedrooms, one double en suite and one twin room as well as a spacious bathroom with a full sized bath with a shower over the top. The open plan sitting and dining room is comfortably furnished with cosy armchairs plus a TV and a DVD player while the modern kitchen is fully equipped. On sunny days, the cottage’s sun lounge or pretty garden is the perfect spot for relaxing with a good book or your favourite tipple. The property has adjacent parking and is suitable for people with mobility difficulties. Travel cots are available if required although blankets are not supplied.

Stranraer has a bustling town centre with fantastic museums, a picturesque harbour and colourfully painted rows of houses, cafes, guest houses, hotels and shops. Whilst you’re here, follow The Town Trail which begins with The Strand by the Castle of St. John - climb to the top to enjoy magnificent views of the region - before continuing along the beautiful seafront. Children will love Agnew Park with its pedal boats, train rides, adventure playground, crazy golf and miniature railway. Why pack up a picnic of some of the regions delicious local produce and enjoy a family day out as you watch the ferries set sail for Ireland or head to ones of the regions beautiful beaches?

Stranraer is a great centre for the serious walker and is skirted by the Southern Upland Way. For those who enjoy a garden walk, three famous gardens in the area are open to the public - Castle Kennedy, Glenwhan and Logan. There are also two bowling green’s in the town, where the visitors are welcome and an excellent 18-hole golf course at Creachmore.
