Kinlochbervie Hotel

Situated in one of the most stunning locations on the west coast of Scotland, The Kinlochbervie Hotel is a warm and welcoming place to stay.
Overlooking the fishing harbour of Kinlochbervie and Loch Clash, with panoramic views over lochs and hills to the open sea, this family run hotel is the perfect base from which to explore this fascinating area.
The restaurant, lounge and bar provide the perfect atmosphere in which to relax after the day’s exploration of hills, beaches and wildlife. We take special pride in the standard of cuisine in our “Taste of Scotland” awarded restaurant. Seafood – fresh daily from the harbour – is a speciality as well as local hill lamb and venison, with unsurpassed flavour. The quality of the food and excellent selection of wines are complemented by the view over the bay and the standard of service. The Garbet Bistro offers a more informal atmosphere for an excellent choice of lunches and snacks and the comfortable bar stocks a large selection of malt whiskies.
Local interest and activities
***********************
Kinlochbervie harbour is home to a modern fishing fleet and haven to visiting yachts and cruisers. Visitors can watch white fish and shellfish being landed from the trawlers and auctioned at the local market. For the energetic, walking and climbing in the area includes the spectacular peaks of Foinaven, Arkle and ben Stack, as well as a rugged coastline interspersed with sandy bays. For a more relaxing experience, there are the golden sands of Oldshoremore, Polin and Sheigra. A round trip walk of 9 miles is rewarded by the stunning sands of Sandwood Bay, guarded at one end by the rock stack, Am Buachaille (The Shepherd). Anglers can enjoy loch and sea fishing for salmon, brown trout, sea trout, haddock, hake and skate. For golfers, there are several good courses within a short drive at Ullapool, Durness, Reay, Thurso and Wick. In addition to the spectacular scenery, the area is rich in wildlife. A wide variety of habitats support many birds, including, most notably, golden eagle, buzzard, guillemot, puffin, eider, fulmar and many others. Sea animals include otters, seals, dolphins, porpoises, killer whales and basking sharks and, on land, there are foxes, badgers and majestic red deer.
Geopark
********
Kinlochbervie is an ideal centre from which to explore the North West Geopark. Our Geopark, which extends from Achiltibuie in the south to Durness in the north, is the first to be established in Scotland. In our Geopark you will experience the incredible legacy left by an extraordinary past. Our mountains and coast, our flora and fauna, our communities and culture – all owe a great deal to the difference which this geology makes.
