Barcaldine House Hotel & Self-Catering Cottages is an elegant country house mansion dating back to 1709. Nestled in mature grounds and gardens the House itself boasts 8 spacious en-suite guest rooms, featuring modern facilities, an oak panelled billiard room, sumptuous lounges and a first class restaurant offering the freshest, finest local produce. A guest dining table in the kitchen gives our guests the opportunity of experiencing the 'ultimate dining experience'. A well stocked lounge bar is available offering guests the finest range of malts, cognacs and local bottled ales. There are 6 spacious self-catering cottages catering from 2-6 guests where guests can take advantage of the main House facilities as well as room-service. Located close to Loch Creran we are only 10 miles from Oban, ideally situated for a full range of outdoor activities.

Barcaldine House Hotel & Self-Catering Cottages are set in the grounds of
historic Barcaldine House, an elegant country house mansion dating
back to 1709. Nestled in mature grounds and gardens our 6 self-catering cottages are very spacious and extremely comfortable. Cottage guests can take full advantage of the main house facilities and room service is available in the cottages. With the exception of July and August where the minimum night stay is seven nights, the cottages are available for a minimum of 2 nights stay.
The House itself boasts 8 spacious guest rooms, all en-suite featuring modern facilities, an oak panelled billiard room, sumptuous lounge and a first class modern restaurant offering all the freshest, finest local produce prepared with the utmost care by our Chef Craig Ferguson. A guest dining table in the kitchen gives our guests the opportunity of experiencing the ‘ultimate dining experience’. Craig’s food is complimented by a select and bespoke wine list.
Within walking distance to Loch Creran, Barcaldine House Cottages are ideally located in a peaceful, tranquil setting on the edge of the Barcaldine Forest, yet only 10 miles from Oban, Argyll's principal town and ferry port from which there are numerous cruises to the Islands including Iona, Mull, Staffa and the Outer Hebrides. For those who love the outdoor life, from dog walkers to mountain bikers and hill walkers to those wishing to enjoy the many activities and attractions nearby, you don't have to travel far! On
your doorstep you will find an abundance of wildlife and many interesting walks to chose from in nearby Sutherlands Grove. A cycle track which begins at one of the many favourite local tourist attractions, the Sealife Sanctuary, is approximately 10 miles in length and takes you along the shores of the Loch as well as into the forests of the nearby Glen. The beautiful and famous Tralee beach is only 4 miles from Barcaldine as well as Rally Karting and horseriding. Other nearby activities include 'The Whisky Coast', a collaboration of all 16 distilleries, island hopping, whale watching, golf, sailing, shooting, watersports including white water rafting,
scuba diving, loch fishing, hill walking, climbing, to name but a
