Our B&B property has recently been extended and completely upgraded to provide superior accommodation while retaining the original character of the cottage. We can provide the following accommodation, 1 family room en-suite, 1 double room en-suite, 1 twin room and 1 single with private bathroom. Within the village of Croftamie the friendly, family run ‘Wayfarers’ Pub/Restaurant is only 50 metres away serving a reasonably priced selection of lunches & dinners and often has entertainment such as folk singers etc. It also has a beer garden to enjoy a drink on warm summer nights. We are on a bus route to all the local villages & towns. The very picturesque village of Drymen is just along the road. Drymen has a good selection of bars/restaurants, local shops, arts and crafts.
Croftamie is the ideal base for touring as the Cosmopolitan city of Glasgow and historic Stirling are both less than half an hour away. You are also within easy reach of several other major towns and cities in Scotland. Activities locally include clay pigeon shooting, golfing, walking, cycling, fishing, horse riding, trekking and many water sports.
Loch Lomond is unquestionably one of the most beautiful places on Earth. The scenery around here is breathtaking and it's worth a visit for that alone. There are however many other local attractions designed to keep visitors to our visitors happy. Several events take place in and around the loch Lomond area, the Drymen agricultural show is a great day out for all the family at the end of May, the loch Lomond highland games, the Lomond folk festival and the Open golf Championship in July.
The Trossachs is an area of outstanding natural beauty that is located roughly between Aberfoyle and Callander. This includes some amazing scenery and several beautiful lochs. It also includes the Lake of Menteith, the only significant body of water in Scotland to be known as a "lake" (as opposed to "loch"). You can also visit Loch Katrine, which was the setting for Sir Walter Scott's novel, "The Lady of the Lake". Loch Katrine is now more famous as the source of much of Glasgow's water supply. This area with its glens, mountains and forest paths is a dream for hill walkers, cyclists and mountain bikers. The small towns of Aberfoyle and Callander are very picturesque and tourists are well cater for throughout the area. At the top of Loch Voil you will find Balqhuidder, a small hamlet where you can view Rob Roy's grave.
Scotlands capital city, Edinburgh is within an hour and a half by car as is the ‘City of Discovery’ Dundee and the beautiful Ayrshire coast. You can drive up to Oban through some of Scotlans most rugged and dramatic countryside or head up through Glencoe to Fort William. All of these places can be reached easily on good roads with only light traffic.
