Arran sits in the Clyde estuary and Kilbartan sound and is only 50 mins by ferry to the mainland (East from Brodick to Ardrossan, Ayrshire and west from Lochranza to Clanoig on the Kintyre peninsula). However, although popular this island never seems crowded and will seem like an eternity away from modern life.
Linevern Swiss Cottage was imported and built on a commanding elevated site, 4 minutes walk from the beach and coffee pot teashop/bus stop at Whiting Bay. Whiting Bay is a 15minute car ride or a 20minute bus ride from Brodick Ferry Terminal. It has many amenities including: Golf Course, extensive sandy beach, bowling green, shops (inc, art gallery), pubs/restaurants, pharmacy, GP surgery, numerous forest walks (inc. Glenashdale falls and the Giant graves), coffee shops, village hall, play park, church etc.
Looking East, Linevern has sea views to the mainland and looking South it has a back garden view of Glen Ashdale, both of which are stunning. There is of-road parking for two cars and a fenced garden which can accommodate activities such as children playing, pitching a tent or having a BBQ under the Gazebo. Being a cottage there are no stairs to climb and the open plan arrangement allows easy access to the 3 bedrooms, 3 public areas (dining kitchen, lounge and sunroom) and 2 toilets (shower room and bathroom with shower). It sleeps 6 to 8 in a 1 double 2 twin and 1 lounge king size sofa bed sleeping arrangement) . It also has sleeping bags for additional visitors and there will be a fresh supply of quality linen on all beds and towels on arrival (or refreshed weekly thereafter).
The house is heated with electric storage/instant warmth heaters in each room and combined with Scandinavian triple glazing makes for a cosy stay whatever the weather. Furthermore, a wood burning stove in the lounge is available for a secondary source of heat. Any clothes can be dried using the washing rack placed in the sunroom or whirly gig placed outside in the front forecourt or heated towel rails in each toilet. There are plenty of cupboards for storage throughout the house. There is no phone in Linevern but mobile phones from most providers get a signal. There is a modern well equipped kitchen/dinning room with views over the valley. A relaxing lounge awaits with satellite television/DVD player/Music System and sun lounge with sea/valley views and a selection of board games. There is storage area for outdoor clothing, golf clubs and bikes with adult bikes available for use.

Prices range from £61 per day (minimum 3 day hire-off peak) to £581 per week, at peak times. Arrive from the Ferry, at your island home to be met by a welcome pack to help you wind down to island pace after your journey. Entrance to Linevern is via a pin code which will be issued when the deposit and balance payments are received.
